“If you say that money is the most important thing, you’ll spend your life completely wasting your time: You’ll be doing things you don’t like doing in order to go on living, that is, in order to go on doing things you don’t like doing — which is stupid!” Alan Watts
Love it! Building home in organic and intuitive ways that respond to people’s needs. Through photographer Iwan Baan‘s gaze.
The short movie we made in a flash in Lapland, Finland, 350 kms above the arctic circle. A potent ode to nature and First Nations’ powerful role in harmonizing the planet created by three young Native apprentice filmmakers under my supervision.
A very insightful documentary about one of Russia’s richest oil tycoon who has just been freed after spending 10 years in a Karelian penal colony, near the Finnish border. At the time of his arrest back in 2003, he was Russia’s richest man. His relationship with Mr Putin became extremely tense when he started funding oppositional parties and openly criticizing the political powers in place. Knowing he would end up in jail, he continued provoking Poutin. Why asks the filmmaker Cyril Tuschi? Why did he not simply leave the country with his billions. Trying to understand the man, Tuschi adroitly guides the viewer into this gripping fight of the titans.
The film also brushes a fascinating portrait on the manners in which Khodorkovsky and the other Russian oligarchs gathered their tremendous wealth during the chaotic times flowing the breakup of the former Soviet Union. And on how he became a threat to silence.
Could not stop laughing hearing this…Maybe I should be crying. What do you think?
On the same theme, this one is quite raunchier…
